Design Services

Redesign: We have the capability to take older designs (perhaps with obsolete, long lead time or unstable parts) and redesign the instrument to perform the same functions using more modern, stable, readily available and economical parts. While there is some initial engineering expense, it is possible to save money by using more readily available and smaller parts.

Repackaging: Sometimes, as part of the redsign, we can take an instrument that has that 1980's look and bring it up to date. We can also solve other problems such as water intrusion, internal condensation, problems caused by shock and vibration, current density, or improper shielding.

Our repackaging capability extends from custom modified NEMA 4X enclosures to haxardous area designs (including purged enclosures). We take prode in producing a finished product that not only functions well but also looks outstanding.

Electronic Instrumentation Design: If there is a need for a new product, we have the capability to design everything from simple circuitry to complex instrumentation systems. We have experience with engine control, transmission control, EDC, and all kinds of hydraulic valves components. We understand closed loop control, pulse width modulation, and have interfaced to just about every kind of sensor for measuring flow, temperature, pH, viscosity, density, level, GPS, etc. We have considerable experience in very low current designs using various battery types.

Design for Hazardous Areas: When the application requires operation in harzardous areas, we can take products through the testing and approval phase for certification through ATEX, CSA, CE, UL, or other agencies.

Contract Manufacturing

We provide both "labor only" and "turnkey" contract manufacturing for both electronic and pnumatic assemblies. This includes a wide array of products including control panels, PCB assemblies (through hole and surface mount), wiring harnesses, cables, and packaging.

Many of our products are installed on trucks or ships and used in the oil and gas well service industries. We are, therfor, very familiar with the problems associated with shock, vibration, and corrosion and can build stable, rugged equipment.

We understand hazardous area requirements and use standard engineering practices when applications require intrinsically safe or explosion proof components.

We also have the capability to test products after completion so that they are shipped with documented test procedures and are ready to install. Assemblies requiring software can either be programmed with the actual software used in the final application or with test software to exercise all of the hardware functions.
